KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: The Kuwait National Seismic Network, part of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), recorded an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale in northeastern Kuwait on Wednesday.

According to a press release from the network, the quake occurred at 4:46 p.m. local time, with a depth of 6 kilometers below the earth's surface.

Later in the day, at 6:33 p.m., the network detected an aftershock in the same area, registering 2.2 on the Richter scale, at the same depth. Authorities continue to monitor the situation, though no major damage or injuries have been reported.
