KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12: The Civil Service Commission will officially notify the Civil Service Council and the Council of Ministers that Thursday, January 30, will be recognized as a holiday for all public departments, agencies, and institutions in observance of the Isra and Mi'raj anniversary.
The holiday has been moved to Thursday instead of Monday, January 27, the actual date of the anniversary, in accordance with a Cabinet decision. This decision stipulates that if the Prophet's birthday or the Isra and Mi'raj anniversary falls between two working days, the holiday is deferred to the following Thursday each year.
As a result, the holiday will span from Thursday to Saturday, January 30 to February 1, with official work resuming on Sunday, February 2. Agencies and entities with specific work schedules will determine their holiday arrangements based on public interest, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
