3 Syrian Brothers’ Kuwaiti Citizenship Fraud Revealed After Liquor-Fueled Tip-Off

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: A case involving the forgery of Kuwaiti nationality by three individuals who actually hold Syrian citizenship. The first individual fraudulently joined a tribe and obtained Kuwaiti citizenship by establishment. The second individual followed a similar path, joining a different tribe through forgery and securing Kuwaiti citizenship. The third brother, however, remained a Syrian citizen and held a residence permit in Kuwait.

DNA tests later confirmed beyond any doubt that the three men were brothers. The first individual had his Kuwaiti citizenship revoked in November 2024, while the second man was recently apprehended at his residence, where he had been hiding. This individual had been employed at the Ministry of Higher Education but had no one registered on his official file.

The case took an unexpected turn when the third brother, still holding Syrian citizenship, made a curious comment during a social gathering. While under the influence of alcohol during one casual evening gathering—the third brother revealed that he had Kuwaiti siblings. This information was reported to a secret source, who alerted the Nationality Investigations Department.

Following an investigation and a series of searches, the information was verified, and the three men were arrested. The authorities confirmed through DNA tests that all three individuals were indeed brothers. The case is still ongoing, with legal actions being pursued as part of the efforts to address the fraudulent acquisition of Kuwaiti nationality.
