KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Customs officers at the Shuwaikh Port recently foiled the attempt of an unidentified person to smuggle 3,948 bottles of whisky into the country aboard two containers, reports Al- Rai daily.
According to a customs source, the customs officers suspected a shipment of urea coming from an unidentified GCC state. The bill of lading showed the shipment contained fertilizers used for agriculture and subjected it to the X-ray inspection. The X-ray showed cartons filled with bottles of whisky (1,968 bottles) in the first container and (1,980) in the second.
