KUWAIT CITY, Feb 25: Kuwait's Ministry of Interior security personnel have arrested a gang of four expatriates involved in stealing delivery bikes, dismantling them, and shipping them abroad as scrap to be reassembled and sold in another country. The arrest followed a complaint from a legal representative of a consumer delivery company, who reported that an unidentified person had stolen a bike while the delivery worker was inside a building completing an order.
Upon receiving the report, authorities launched an investigation and, using security camera footage, identified the suspect and the location of the theft in the Farwaniya area. The suspect was apprehended and confessed to the crime, admitting involvement in another similar case. Further interrogation revealed that he had collaborated with a second accomplice to dismantle the stolen bikes and load them for transport with the help of a driver and a third suspect, both of whom were also arrested. Investigations uncovered that the stolen bikes were being dismantled and stored at the residence of a building guard, who was also taken into custody. Authorities have stated that further investigations will be carried out to determine the full extent of the gang’s thefts and any additional crimes they may have committed.
