KUWAIT CITY, March 25: As part of the security efforts to combat begging and control street vendors during the holy month of Ramadan, the Criminal Security Sector has intensified its inspection campaigns. The Department of Protection of Public Morals and Combating Trafficking in Persons and the Department of Juvenile Protection have collaborated to arrest nine expats of various nationalities on charges of begging.

In addition, four street hawkers were apprehended for violating law and their items were confiscated by the Kuwait Municipality. They are being referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures against them.
