45th GCC Summit to focus on political and economic issues: Foreign Minister

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28:  Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya stated on Wednesday that the 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), to be hosted by Kuwait this Sunday, will focus on several key topics, particularly political and economic matters.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Minister Al-Yahya highlighted that the session’s agenda will also include discussions on strategic partnerships, cybersecurity, and the advancement of electrical and railway connections between GCC member states.

He noted that preparations for the summit include the 162nd session of the Ministerial Council, scheduled for Thursday. This preparatory meeting will feature various events, including the arrival of GCC foreign ministers, a consultative meeting of the Ministerial Council, the formal start of the 162nd session, and a visit to the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center to view the GCC Journey Exhibition. This exhibition showcases the Council’s achievements and significant historical milestones. Following these events, the foreign ministers will depart.

Minister Al-Yahya further expressed his honor, as an envoy of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to deliver official invitations to the leaders of GCC member states, inviting them to attend the 45th Gulf Summit in Kuwait.
