KUWAIT CITY, Nov 13: Leonardo, a 5-year-old Swiss prodigy, is using his artistic talent to show solidarity and support for the Palestinian cause. He is contributing his artwork to a charity bazaar scheduled for December 9 at Al-Shaheed Park. Despite his young age, Leonardo's sketches have transcended barriers and borders, and he has harnessed the power of his innocent childhood imagination to make a difference, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The charity bazaar, which aims to raise funds for Gaza, was initiated by Sheikha Rima Al-Sabah, the wife of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and announced by Tiziano Palmelli, the Swiss ambassador to Kuwait. The event will involve the participation of ambassadors' spouses and various embassies displaying goods for sale. The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, recognizing the dire situation in Gaza as a nightmarish reality
According to Ambassador Palmelli, his son Leonardo, who started drawing at the age of 3, has an exceptional artistic talent. Seven of his paintings will be showcased at the charity bazaar, which is aimed at raising funds for Gaza. Palmelli mentioned that Leonardo understands the purpose behind selling his paintings, but sometimes he becomes attached to a specific piece and requests his mother to withhold it from sale
“His temperament mirrors that of other artists who make last-minute changes to their creations," the Swiss ambassador added and said, "The paintings truly captivate admirers, with people expressing keen interest in purchasing them to contribute funds for the benefit of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip."
