KUWAIT CITY, March 4: The Criminal Court yesterday sentenced Adel Al-Hashash to 5-year imprisonment with hard labor for harming the funds of the Ministry of Interior through food meals for security personnel. The Ministry of Interior had referred to this case after finding out that there was intentional damage to public funds by supplying meals to the police. Al-Hashash had denied this charge after he was brought from prison, stressing that he held the position of public relations director and had several departments under his supervision and that he knew nothing about this charge. It is noteworthy that the accused is serving a prison sentence in the Ministry of Interior Hospitality case after the Court of Cassation increased the penalty against him by sentencing him to life imprisonment instead of 15 years, and imposing a fine of KD 113 million.
