KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: Kuwait’s General Traffic Department reported 48,104 traffic violations recorded between January 11 and 17, alongside the arrest of 50 reckless drivers and the impounding of 204 vehicles. Additionally, 27 juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution for various offenses, and 77 motorcycles were seized and moved to the impound garage.
During this period, the Operations Department received 2,007 reports, including 1,150 traffic accidents, ranging from minor collisions to incidents involving injuries. All cases were referred to the relevant police stations for further action.
The department also reported the arrest of one individual in possession of suspected narcotics, another in an abnormal state, and four individuals without identification. Furthermore, 51 wanted persons, including those with expired residencies or outstanding warrants, were apprehended. Authorities also seized 45 wanted vehicles linked to theft or judicial seizure orders.
All detained individuals, confiscated items, and impounded vehicles have been referred to the competent authorities for further investigation.
