Traffic enforcement campaigns lead to arrests and vehicle seizures.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: The General Traffic Department has intensified its traffic enforcement campaigns across all governorates, targeting juveniles driving without a license, individuals engaged in reckless driving, and those wanted by authorities. These efforts have led to significant results over the past week.

According to the weekly statistics, a total of 50,175 various traffic violations were recorded. Authorities seized 182 vehicles and 18 motorcycles during the campaigns. Additionally, 32 juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution for driving violations.

The campaigns also resulted in the arrest of individuals wanted for various offenses, including absconding, expired residency, and other legal matters. A total of 22 people were arrested, along with the seizure of 46 wanted vehicles, all of which were referred to the competent authorities for further action.

In terms of traffic accidents, the department reported 1,142 accidents resulting in injuries and 209 collision accidents during the period from August 4 to August 10, 2024. These figures highlight the ongoing efforts of the General Traffic Department to maintain road safety and enforce traffic laws.
