KUWAIT CITY, July 10: The Ministry of Interior said between 65,000 and 70,000 violators of the residence law have benefitted from the amnesty which was issued by the government last March for those who wished to leave the country without paying fines for their illegal stay in the country over the years or legalize their stay.

The deadline ended on June 30, 2024, following which the security authorities have launched campaigns across all governorates to arrest and deport those who have failed to benefit from the amnesty. According to Al-Seyassah daily hundreds of people have been arrested and deported or are awaiting deportation.
