7 Forgers and Their Children Reaped Oil Salaries, Loans, and State Perks

KUWAIT CITY, March 27: Investigations and legal proceedings have confirmed that Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Youssef’s declaration of 2024 as the "Year of the Nahsha" (is a metaphorical expression to describe crackdown, accountability, or decisive action against frauds) for those involved in Kuwaiti nationality forgery was well-founded.

In one such case under committee review, it was discovered that several individuals implicated in forgery fled the country as suspicions mounted and their exposure became imminent.

According to informed sources, the Nationality Investigation Department received intelligence regarding a fraudulent citizenship file containing 15 names, seven of whom were falsely registered as the children of the file’s owner. The citizenship of two individuals was revoked nearly two months ago after forgery was conclusively proven.

The sources further disclosed that the remaining five suspects left Kuwait and terminated their employment. These individuals held positions in the oil sector and other sensitive roles, with most being the children of the primary offenders. They had unlawfully benefited from high salaries and extensive privileges within the oil industry.

Additionally, the sources noted that the five individuals slated for citizenship revocation are part of a larger group of approximately 236 suspects, many of whom fraudulently obtained government benefits such as housing loans and subsidies.

It was also revealed that some offspring of the forgers remained in Kuwait. After being summoned for genetic fingerprinting and testing, it was irrefutably confirmed that they are not biologically related to the alleged grandfather listed in the original citizenship file. Further scrutiny of the 15-name dossier established that only eight were legitimate descendants of the file’s owner.
