Power stations handle high temperatures without outages

Ministry of Electricity successfully avoids power outages amid high temperatures.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy expressed relief yesterday after successfully avoiding power outages despite the high temperatures. This achievement was attributed to the diligent efforts of workers in operating and maintaining the production units, who managed to bring several units back online and improve the efficiency of others.

A responsible source in the ministry informed Al-Rai that the ministry successfully returned several units to service, adding a production capacity of 740 megawatts, thereby enhancing the stations' overall production capacity. The source noted that efforts are ongoing to restore the remaining gas units to service to meet the country's electrical energy needs.

The source further explained that if the ministry can get through this week without any urgent issues arising in the production units, it would indicate that the peak of summer has passed. Starting in September, the ministry plans to coordinate with other sectors to develop strategies for the upcoming summer season and implement quick solutions to address the shortcomings that have surfaced in recent weeks and months.
