KUWAIT CITY, Feb 11: The second Kuwait International Tennis Championship for Men concluded after an exciting second week on the main court of the Kuwait Tennis Federation at Sheikh Jaber Al-Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah International Tennis Complex. The tournament featured a distinguished lineup of professional players from 16 countries, including Kuwait, Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, New Zealand, Japan, Slovenia, Belgium, Ireland, Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Algeria, and Senegal.
In the singles competition, Cem Ilkel of Turkey claimed the championship title, while Johan Nickels of Switzerland secured second place. In the doubles event, Germany’s Lucas Giersch and Kai Wenlet emerged victorious, with Belgium’s Daniel Sargsyan and Martin Van der Meerschen finishing as runners-up.
Notably, several players from the Kuwaiti national team participated in the tournament. Among them, Abdul Hamid Mahboob Juma Mubarak earned international ranking points in the singles category, while Bader Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Qahtani and Issa Salman Mahmoud Qabazard secured ranking points in the doubles competition. The matches were officiated by International Tennis Federation representative and chief referee Abdul Raouf Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Salam.
