A driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the barricades surrounding Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque.
On June 26, 2015, a suicide bomber attacked Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque during Friday prayers, killing 27 worshippers and injuring over 200. The attack was claimed by ISIS and targeted the Shiite community in Kuwait. This incident was one of the deadliest attacks in Kuwait’s history and led to widespread condemnation from across the political and social spectrum. In response, the government took immediate steps to enhance security around places of worship.
