ABK Sponsors 'Green Day' At Al Shaab Health City

KUWAIT CITY, October 30: Based on its social responsibility and belief in environmental sustainability, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) sponsored ‘Green Day’ at Al Shaab Health City, held under the patronage and presence of the Governor of Hawally, Ali Salem Al-Asfar; the Bank's representatives; and a crowd of environmental activists at Mohammed Al-Aradi Park.

The event featured several activities, including an awareness panel discussion on agriculture in which environmental specialists had participated. This is in addition to the distribution of free seedlings that were planted in cooperation with the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources.

ABK’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening its presence within society. It also showcases the Bank’s commitment to educate various segments about the importance of the environment and agriculture and its positive impact in reducing the problems of desertification and the challenges of hot weather and high temperature in Kuwait.

On this occasion, Sager Albenali, Chief Communications Officer

at ABK, said, "This sponsorship affirms our strive to be a key partner in development and a supporter of initiatives aimed at spreading environmental and community awareness. This is especially relevant given its great importance to public health, improving quality of life, and creating a sustainable green environment for future generations.”

Albenali stated that this initiative reflects the great impact institutions have in enhancing environmental sustainability in Kuwait, indicating that ABK’s participation should encourage others in the banking, amongst other sectors, to join the cause.

He added that ABK is keen to sponsor related initiatives, in cooperation with many partners, to positively impact various segments of Kuwaiti society. ‘Green Day’ is one of many similar environmental events that ABK partook in, including the Shuwaikh Free Zone beach cleanup, the COP28 United Nations Climate Change Conference in the United Arab Emirates, amongst others.

In addition to this, ABK implements various internal efforts to reduce its environmental impact, such as reducing the use of paper, adopting digital technologies within its branches, and providing different digital solutions through its website and mobile app.

Concluding his statement, Albenali stressed that ABK will continue to support upcoming environmental events and meet the needs of society as part of its role as a responsible banking institution. He thanked Al Shaab Health City for its efforts in making the event a success, stressing the importance of cooperation between public and private sector institutions in successfully facing environmental challenges.
