KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) is actively committed to supporting the Diraya banking awareness campaign in collaboration with the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and Kuwait Banking Association (KBA). The Bank participates in various events and activities aimed at promoting the campaign's themes and raising awareness among customers about their rights and responsibilities when dealing with banks. Furthermore, ABK emphasizes the benefits of the banking solutions and products available to them, while highlighting the significance of the banking sector.
As part of its efforts, Ali Bu Hamad, Head of Complaints and Customer Protection at ABK, participated in a podcast show on Kuwait TV where discussed the importance of the Diraya campaign and its significant positive impact on achieving financial inclusion in Kuwait. During the podcast, he addressed various topics related to the campaign, including loan conditions, the risks associated with loan encashment, and the measures the Bank has implemented to protect customers from financial and banking fraud.
ABK urges customers to avoid dealing with illegal intermediaries when seeking loans. He pointed out that engaging in such practices is unlawful and can lead to customers becoming victims of fraud or incurring amounts that exceed their ability to repay monthly. He noted that ABK regularly shares videos across its social media platforms to educate customers about the risks associated with these practices and warns them against responding to offers from unauthorized individuals or entities. Bu Hamad reiterated the importance of utilizing legal methods to fulfill their various financial needs.
Furthmore, ABK provides consumer and housing loans to customers according to CBK’s terms and requirements. Customers may submit loan applications within the Bank’s branches, through the website, or the mobile app. The client’s financial situation is studied in order to offer the most appropriate advice on the best loan for them.
ABK also provides its customers with a two-day period to thoroughly review the loan terms before officially signing the contract. He urged customers to report any changes in their financial situation, whether due to a job change or unemployment. This allows the Bank to take the necessary measures to protect them and offer the best banking and financial services that continuously meet their needs.
ABK organizes a series of events and activities aimed at promoting financial and banking literacy. These initiatives include introducing various types of accounts, loans, cards, digital services, and specialized services for individuals with special needs, along with a range of other products. This effort reflects the Bank’s ongoing commitment to leveraging all its resources to ensure the success of the Diraya campaign, which is distinctive in both the Kuwaiti market and the GCC countries.
