KUWAIT CITY, April 17: The Court of Cassation upheld the prison sentence that a lower court imposed on 47-year-old woman who injected her 13-year-old daughter with insulin with the intent to kill her. Case files indicate that the woman also made it easy for her boyfriend to rape the victim after she discovered their illicit relationship and deprived her children of their basic rights.
The Court of Cassation also sentenced the mother’s lover to 15 years in prison with hard labor. The mother stated during the investigation that she committed the act out of revenge on her daughter as she discovered her illicit relationship with her lover. As a result, she deprived all her children of their basic rights. In its indictment, the Public Prosecution demanded the maximum penalty to be imposed on the defendants (the mother and her lover) as they committed one of the most heinous crimes against humanity.
