KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24:Social media activists, according a reliable security source says the Criminal Security Sector of the Ministry of Interior has seen a change in the attitude of social media users, especially those who took to the social media to publish vulgar images in violation of the morals and intrusive behavior, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily said the sector has taken note that many inappropriate clips and what it called the ‘over-the-norm behavior’ have been or rather cleaned their accounts of pornographic material to avoid being held accountable for what they publish.

The source added, all those who follow the media have noticed that many celebrities are determined to stay clear of trouble and have allegedly cleaned their accounts and got rid of vulgarity, after the Ministry of Interior showed its determination to refer to Prosecution and even deported some who had violated the morals of the society by publishing inappropriate material on the websites and photos on their accounts.

In response to a question if the Ministry of the Interior is determined to act tough with violators of the morals and public decency law, the answer was, “The Ministry will follow-up on anyone who publishes what violates public modesty and things that are not right to be seen.” At the same time the source reiterated that there is a difference between freedom of expression and publication of what contradicts customs and traditions or broadcast clips to increase the number of followers on the social media.
