AI cameras deployed in Kuwait to crack down on traffic violations and improve safety
Kuwait begins installing AI cameras to monitor traffic violations

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Traffic and Operations Sector, has announced the commencement of installing automated surveillance cameras powered by artificial intelligence. These cameras are designed to monitor traffic obstruction violations and failure to adhere to lane markings.

In a statement released on Thursday, the ministry explained that this initiative aligns with the directives of the Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

The ministry urged all drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and etiquette, respect lane markings and traffic signs, and avoid infringing on the rights of others on the road. It emphasized that adherence to these rules is crucial for achieving traffic safety and ensuring a smooth traffic flow across various roads.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated that this initiative is part of its comprehensive strategy to enhance the traffic system and ensure the safety and security of road users. It also warned that violators would face the necessary legal measures for noncompliance.
