KUWAIT CITY, Sept 21: Plainclothes policemen have taken into custody an unidentified employee working at the Kuwait International Airport for stealing computer passwords of his colleagues, penetrating the computer system and using the computer network at the land border to facilitate entry and exit of people in return for money, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source said the arrest came when the suspect helped a Jordanian and his four family members to legalize their stay in Kuwait. According to reports the Jordanian with his family left for Saudi Arabia from Kuwait and stayed there for more than six months and as result was unable to enter the country. The Jordanian then contacted the suspect and sent him the five passports to do the needful.

aipAfter registering their entries and exit the passports were sent back to the Jordanian following which the Jordanian entered the country via the Salmi border post. After the arrest of the Jordanian at the border post, securitymen identified the man who had facilitated his entry and the suspect was whisked away for interrogation. Initially the suspect denied the allegation and said when the Jordanian entered the country, he was not even present at the border post. However, when he was shown the document proof he could not deny the charges because he was caught by the CCTV camera receiving his Jordanian ‘friend’. The Kuwaiti and with the Jordanian has been referred to the concerned authority.

Egyptian held with 1,200 drug pills: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport recently foiled an attempt by an Egyptian to smuggle 1,200 Tramadol pills into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the pills were tied to his leg with a piece of cloth. The arrest came because the man looked confused after he arrived at the customs desk. The contraband and the smuggler have been referred to the General Department of Drugs Control.

AIDS carrier Asian attempts suicide: An unidentified Asian man who attempted to end his life by slitting his wrists was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jahra Hospital and later shifted to the Contagious Diseases Hospital because he is reportedly a carrier of AIDS, reports Al-Anba daily. The victim was taken to hospital by paramedics. The daily added, the man will be deported after he is able to travel.
