BEIRUT, Nov 12, (AP): Israeli airstrikes targeted a cafeteria and a home in Gaza, killing at least 14 people, according to medical officials. In Lebanon, Israeli warplanes struck Beirut's southern suburbs on Tuesday after issuing evacuation orders for multiple homes in the area.

The renewed bombardment on both fronts comes ahead of a U.S.-imposed deadline for Israel to significantly increase humanitarian aid access into Gaza or face potential restrictions on American military funding. A coalition of eight international aid agencies reported on Tuesday that Israel has not met the conditions set by the U.S.

In Lebanon, powerful explosions rocked the Dahiyeh neighborhood of Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold, shortly after the Israeli military ordered 11 houses in the area to evacuate. While the military claimed the homes housed Hezbollah installations, these assertions could not be independently verified. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Earlier, a strike late Monday in the village of Ain Yaacoub, northern Lebanon, killed at least 16 people, including four Syrian refugees, and left 10 others wounded, according to Lebanon's civil defense. Israel has not commented on the incident.

Israel has escalated airstrikes in Lebanon since late September, aiming to weaken Hezbollah and curb over a year of cross-border attacks by the militant group targeting northern Israel.
