KUWAIT CITY, Jan 11: Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Industry Eng Eid Al-Adwani led the Kuwaiti delegation to the third international ministerial meeting on mining affairs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Participating in the event were more than 77 countries -- 45 ministers and high-level government representatives. International organizations and NGOs, including UNIDO, Gulf Cooperation Council, World Bank, OECD, and International Finance Corporation also took part in the meeting.

Key discussions centered around translating discussions into practical initiatives on the ground through four main initiatives identified in the previous ministerial meeting which hosted over 15,000 participants from 145 countries, featuring more than 200 speakers, including CEOs of major mining and related companies, financial sector representatives, and over 150 sponsors.

Eng. Al-Adwani also headed the Kuwaiti delegation at the ninth consultative meeting of Arab ministers on mineral wealth affairs, on January 9, 2024. The meeting centered around cooperation among Arab countries in mining, covering topics such as the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining’s achievements and the initiative to rehabilitate old mines and quarries. The meeting also marked the launch of the Arab Platform for Future Minerals, seeking to boost bilateral cooperation and investment. In another development, a Kuwaiti industrial delegation engaged with Major General Mukhtar Abdel Latif, head of the Egyptian Arab Organization for Industrialization, in Cairo.
