Kuwait City, Mar 03: Stemming from its strategy to encourage development and the sharing of knowledge, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) recently collaborated with IDRAK, a leading organization focused on developing employees, acquiring talent, and fostering a strong organizational culture aligned with business goals.
As part of this collaboration, ABK hosted a dynamic panel discussion titled 'Stepping into Supervisory Roles' at its headquarters, engaging 21 high-performing employees from Kuwait Petroleum Company (KPC). This event, which brought together ABK’s leadership and aspiring young talents, served as a crucial component of the leadership program facilitated by IDRAK.
The esteemed panel included Yasmine Salamah, GM of Multinational Corporates and Structured Finance at ABK & Chairperson of ABK Capital; Omar Alabduljader, AGM – Human Resources Division; Khalil AlQattan, AGM - Digital Channels Division.
The Panel was facilitated by Professor Youssef Jammal, an executive consultant with over 20 years of extensive experience in leadership, management, communication, teamwork, human resource management, and more.
The panel provided insights from these accomplished leaders, diving into their diverse experiences thus creating a dynamic and insightful session for the audience. This included covering key aspects, such as adapting to leadership, managing teams, and setting clear expectations – addressing real-world challenges faced when moving into a position of leadership within a workplace dynamic.
The session also explored various aspects of management, encompassing both self-management, the art of managing others, and meeting the organizations’ needs while keeping a healthy work-life balance. ABK has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to employee development over the past three years, actively furnishing tools to enhance skills in self-management and team coordination.
Stressing the importance of such initiatives, Afrah AlArbash, General Manager of Human Resources at ABK, said, “We believe in the necessity of building bridges as a platform for aspiring team leaders to access and benefit from the experiences of accomplished professionals for guidance through challenges.”
Providing her perspective as a panelist, Salamah added, “The insightful discussions offered invaluable guidance and diverse perspectives on the challenges and opportunities associated with transitioning to supervisory roles. We were pleased to have had the opportunity to foster professional development and equip participants with the knowledge essential to ensure a successful transition within their roles.”
The event included an interactive Q&A session, allowing attendees to directly engage with the panelists thus facilitating knowledge exchange. A post-event networking session also encouraged further conversation, promoting deeper interactions among participants.
