Kuwait City, Feb 22: Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) reaffirms its steadfast support for the ‘Let's Be Aware’ Diraya banking awareness campaign, a joint initiative by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and Kuwait Banking Association (KBA). The campaign focuses on promoting financial inclusion in Kuwaiti society and educating customers about their rights and responsibilities when dealing with banks.
The Bank remains dedicated to disseminating financial literacy and banking awareness content through various communication channels, including video advertisements, awareness messages, and tips and advice shared on its official social media platforms and digital channels. Additionally, ABK consistently disseminates CBK’s awareness content related to cyber fraud, providing valuable insights to customers on cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and scams.
Emphasizing the significance of identifying and disregarding scam emails and suspicious messages, ABK highlighted that scam emails often mimic well-known organizations' logos, such as banks and telecom companies, aiming to deceive customers.
Loai Muqames, CEO-Kuwait of ABK, stressed, "Protecting customers' data is our top priority. Hence, we regularly publish awareness material that underscore the importance of ignoring suspicious phone calls and text messages enticing customers with cash prizes and high investment returns in exchange for their personal banking information."
Furthermore, Muqames reassured customers that ABK would never request personal information through phone calls, SMS, or social media platforms. He advised, “Refrain from responding to or sharing personal information with unknown parties and promptly contact the Bank to block your card in case of suspected fraudulent transactions.”
In conclusion, Muqames expressed, "At ABK, we are deeply committed to implementing the highest safety measures for banking transactions, in line with the goals and objectives of the Diraya campaign, to safeguard customers from all forms of fraud."
ABK urges against clicking on suspicious links and storing personal and confidential information, such as banking card numbers, PIN codes, and one-time passwords (OTP), on mobile phones. Additionally, customers should log out from the Bank's application and website after completing transactions.
