RIYADH, Jan 11: Al-Ahli Jeddah coach Matthias Jaissle expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance, emphasizing it could have scored more than six goals in their Saudi Professional League clash against Al-Shabab.

Al-Ahli secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Al-Shabab, having dominated the match's early stages with three unanswered goals in the first 50 minutes at the "Shining Jewel" Stadium in the 14th round of the league.

In the post-match press conference, Jaissle stated, “The team performed brilliantly, especially during the first 60 minutes. We created numerous opportunities and could have easily scored more than six goals.”

He continued, “We must learn from these missed chances to close matches earlier. I commend the players for their efforts. It was exhilarating to perform in front of our fans on home ground.”

Jaissle highlighted the team’s focused preparation: "Our performance in the first 60 minutes was exceptional, thanks to the work we put in during the training camp, focusing on creating opportunities and controlling transitions. I’m pleased with this win against a direct competitor.”

On the standout performance of Jaberi Vega, who scored Al-Ahli’s second goal, Jaissle remarked, “He’s a talented player with remarkable capabilities, and today he delivered an outstanding performance.”

When asked about potential signings in the upcoming winter transfer window, Jaissle explained, “It’s natural for a coach to look for reinforcements during the transfer window. We’ll assess whether it’s feasible, but I have full confidence in the current squad.”

Elsewhere in the league, Damac claimed a 2-0 win over Al-Raed, while Al-Kholood edged out Al-Ettifaq in a 3-2 thriller.
