KUWAIT CITY, July 14: The Al-Ojairi Scientific Center has announced that this year's summer season will conclude after Tuesday, July 16, coinciding with the beginning of the second Gemini season, which will last for 13 days.
In a statement to KUNA, the center explained that the second Gemini season is the fourth of the Arab summer houses and the fifth in the calendar of the houses of the sun and moon. The star associated with this period is known as "Al-Hanaa."
During the second Gemini season, daylight extends to over 13 hours and 50 minutes, while nighttime lasts approximately 10 hours and 10 minutes. The center noted that temperatures rise during this season, which includes an eight-night period known as "Bahoura Al-Summer." This time also marks the onset of the Al-Bawarih winds, also known as the "poisons."
The statement highlighted that the star of the second Gemini is one of the bright stars in the Betelgeuse constellation, known to the Arabs in ancient times and visible to the naked eye.
