KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: Kuwaiti squash player Ali Al-Anzi claimed the singles title in the 17th Federation Squash Championship for Individuals, held at the late Salem Al-Sabah Center, located at the Federation's headquarters in South Surra.
Al-Anzi secured the title after a hard-fought 3-2 win over Saif Heikal of Al-Qurain, who finished as the runner-up. Third place went to Khaitan's Qadir Joul, while Abdulrahman Al-Maghribi of Al-Qurain claimed fourth.
Following the final match, the Vice President of the Federation, Khalid Al-Habib, and Secretary Hamed Al-Omran, along with Kuwaiti Olympic Committee member and Women's Committee head Fatima Hayat, presented the trophies and medals to the winners.
In the women’s category, Basmala Al-Shami of Al-Arabi clinched first place, with Salwa Club’s Sarah Al-Ali finishing as runner-up. Qanout Habib of Al-Qurain took third place.
Fatima Hayat commended the technical skills displayed by both male and female players, highlighting the Squash Federation as one of Kuwait's most successful federations. She noted that women’s competitions are among the most notable achievements in female sports across all federations.
