KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5: Al-Arabi will visit Al-Nasr at 5:30 PM at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium in a rescheduled match from the eighth round of the Zain Premier League.
The Football Association postponed the fixture due to Al-Arabi’s participation in the Asian Challenge Cup, where the "Green" secured a spot in the semi-finals of the West Asia region.
Al-Arabi currently sits second in the league standings with 21 points, trailing the leader, Kuwait Club, by six points and holding a five-point lead over third-placed Al-Qadsiya. Under the guidance of coach Nasser Al-Shatti, Al-Arabi aims to close the gap on Kuwait Club before the league’s second half kicks off later this week.
However, the team will be without Hassan Hamdan and Youssef Majed, who sustained injuries while representing the national team in the Khaleeji Zain 26. Hamdan is sidelined for two weeks with an ankle injury, while Majed underwent shoulder surgery and is expected to be out for approximately three months.
Al-Arabi has signed Nigerian Christopher John to bolster its squad, replacing Algerian Ahmed Khaldi. The team also features Nigerian Anayo Iwala, Algerian Sofiane Bouchar, Moroccan Hamza Khaba, and Mauritanian Abdullah Mahmoud.
On the opposing side, Al-Nasr occupies ninth place with just 4 points. Tunisian coach, Jamil Belkacem, is seeking his first win since taking over from Dhaher Al-Adwani, who stepped down after five rounds of the competition.
The second half of the Zain Premier League is set to begin later this week, following a pause for Kuwait's participation in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the recently concluded Khaleeji Zain 26.
