KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: In the AFC Cup's West Asia region, Kuwait's Al-Arabi Club secured a 2-1 victory over Lebanon's Al-Najma in their third group match on Tuesday. Despite the win, Al-Arabi bid farewell to the tournament, finishing in third place, while Al-Najma ended up in the last position. The scoring started with Ali Khalaf of Al-Arabi finding the net in the 33rd minute, followed by Hamza Khaba's goal in the 71st minute. Khalil Badr managed to score for Al-Najma in the 49th minute.

Al-Arabi accumulated eight points, securing the third spot, while Al-Najma remained at one point, concluding their campaign in the tournament. The Bahraini Riffa Club emerged as the group leaders, advancing to the semi-finals with 13 points, followed by Al-Zawraa from Iraq with 11 points. Joining them in the semi-finals are Al-Nahda of Oman, leading the first group, Al-Kahraba of Iraq, leading the second group, and Al-Riffa of Bahrain, topping the third group. Additionally, Al-Ahed of Lebanon secured a spot as the best second-placed team from the first group.
