KUWAIT CITY, Sept 22: The Misdemeanor Court has sentenced Abdelaziz Ashour, President of Al-Arabi Club, to one year in prison with hard labor for insulting a judge, marking his second conviction in related cases.
Earlier, the Court of Cassation had released Ashour after he received a six-month prison sentence for assaulting a member of the judiciary. The execution of that sentence was suspended pending an appeal in the Court of Cassation, where he faced accusations of insulting and challenging the integrity of the same judicial member. Despite this, the Public Prosecution has opted to continue Ashour's detention due to another case filed by the same victim.
