KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: In the eighth round of the Kuwait Premier League (Zain League), Al-Arabi Football Club emerged victorious against their Kuwait Club counterpart, securing a decisive 3-0 win on Sunday.
The match, held at the Al Sadaqat va Al Salam Stadium, saw a dominant performance from Al-Arabi. Sultan Al-Enezi opened the scoring with a powerful header in the fourth minute. The team maintained control throughout the first half and extended their lead to 2-0 when Mamadou Thiam scored in the 36th minute, capitalizing on a one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper.
In the second half, the Kuwait club reorganized its strategy, launching several attacks in an attempt to get back into the match. However, Al-Arabi's tight defense thwarted their efforts, relying on effective counter-attacks. In the 68th minute, Al-Arabi sealed the victory with a third goal courtesy of Iwala, securing three crucial points. With this triumph, Al-Arabi reached a total of 17 points, drawing level with Kuwait but taking the lead based on goal difference.
In other matches of the round, Al-Nasr, Kazma, Al-Shabab, and Al-Arabi secured victories against Al-Jahra, Al-Fahaheel, Khaitan, and Al-Kuwait, respectively. Al-Qadisiyah, on the other hand, settled for a draw against Al-Salmiya.
The current league standings place Al-Qadisiyah in third with 16 points, followed by Al-Nasr in fourth with 13 points, and Al-Salmiya in fifth also with 13 points. Kazma holds the sixth position with 13 points, Al-Shabab is seventh with 11 points, Al-Fahaheel is eighth with 5 points, Khaitan is ninth with 5 points, and Al-Jahra remains in the last place with just one point.
