Al-Arabi attacks Salmiya defense.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: Al-Arabi achieved a significant victory over Al-Salmiya, winning 26-22 in the ninth round of the preliminary phase of the Handball League. This win propelled Al-Arabi to the top of the standings with 12 points, while Al-Salmiya, also with 12 points, slipped to third place due to the defeat.

In other matches, Burqan narrowly edged past Al-Qadisiya with a 27-26 win, and Khaitan secured a high-scoring 38-36 victory over Al-Qurain.

Burqan now sits in second place with 13 points, while Al-Qadsiya remains in eighth with 8 points, jeopardizing its chances of securing one of the six Premier League qualification spots. The team’s record of 4 wins and 5 losses has left its position precarious.

Burqan's performance continues to showcase its strength as a contender for the top positions, while Khaitan climbed to ninth place with 6 points. Al-Qurain, despite its close match, remains in seventh with 8 points.

Looking ahead, two matches are scheduled for today at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Halls Complex. Kuwait Club faces Al-Nasr at 5:00 pm, and Kazma takes on Al-Sulaibikhat at 6:30 pm. Both Kuwait Club and Kazma are unbeaten in the tournament so far, each holding 8 points from four matches.
