KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: The President of the Handball Federation, Fouad Al-Balushi, emphasized that the Federation's top priority is the development of Kuwait’s national handball teams, aiming to make them strong contenders in international competitions.
Al-Balushi noted that, despite being amateurs, Kuwait's players have consistently returned to achieve one success after another, even against fully professional teams from other countries.
He added that Kuwait has a promising generation of male and female players capable of representing the nation with pride on the global stage. Al-Balushi highlighted the importance of Kuwait’s inaugural international friendly tournament, stating that Kuwaiti handball has long been a source of pride and a respected force in the sport worldwide.
Al-Balushi further explained that this first international tournament in Kuwait is designed to bolster the national team’s readiness for the upcoming World Championship in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway in January 2025, offering valuable field experience.
He also commended the high caliber of the teams participating in the tournament, expressing his hope that Kuwaiti players will gain valuable experience and wishing all teams success in the event.
