DUBAI, UAE, Nov 15: Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group welcomed Peter Cohen, Chairman and CEO of Cowen Group to his office on Al Wasl Road on Sunday Nov 15, 2015. Cowen Group is a diversified financial services firm that provides alternative investment management and investment banking services. Cohen was previously Chairman of US investment bank Shearson Lehman Hutton which is known as Lehman Brothers (1983-1990).

Also present was Michael Singer, CEO, Ramius, the asset management division of Cowen Group; Fathi Ben Grira, CEO of regional brokerage Menacorp; Sultan Al Habtoor, President, Al Habtoor Motors, and Ahmed Al Habtoor, CEO, Al Habtoor Motors. It is Cohen’s first visit to Dubai. He told the Chairman that he was very impressed with the City. They discussed the transformation of the city over the past four decades and the benefits of living and working in Dubai.

They also discussed regional issues and the US presidential race. Al Habtoor said he hopes the next president is someone who understands economics, the backbone of the economy. After the meeting Al Habtoor showed the group his latest project - Al Habtoor City, a multiuse development on Sheikh Zayed Road. Al Habtoor said, “Nothing in the world compares to Al Habtoor City.

We have just opened the St. Regis Dubai, Al Habtoor City - one of three Starwood-branded hotels within the development.” Following the meeting Al Habtoor gave Cohen a copy of his best-selling autography, ‘Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor - The Autobiography’. The story recounts the extraordinary story of Al Habtoor’s journey through life.
