KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: Kuwait Equestrian Club rider Latifa Al-Hajri emerged as the champion of the Sahara Equestrian Championship, held at the Sahara Resort.

In the prestigious sixth round, the “main” competition featuring jumps at a height of 130 cm, Al-Hajri claimed first place with an impressive time of 42.10 seconds, completing the course flawlessly without any penalty points. She was followed by Khaled Al-Khubaizi, Yaqoub Al-Nasrallah, Mohammed Al-Mullafi, Mazen Birqadar, and Faisal Al-Shatti. Sheikh Sabah Ali Al-Sabah and rider Nasser Abdulaziz Al-Masaeed crowned the champions and presented Latifa Al-Hajri with the championship trophy.

Al-Hajri also secured victory in the fifth round, which featured jumps at a height of 120 cm, further cementing her dominance in the championship.

Other notable winners included Khaled Juma, who took first place in the 110 cm category, and Abdulwahab Al-Baloul, who claimed top honors in the 100 cm competition.

The championship attracted significant participation, with over 150 male and female riders competing in the first and second rounds, which featured obstacles at 60 and 80 cm. Many participants completed the course without errors, showcasing their skill and determination.

Knight Nasser Abdulaziz Al-Masaeed praised the high level of competition, highlighting the strong rivalry among riders striving for top positions. He noted the significant turnout in the beginner category, reflecting growing interest in equestrian sports.

Al-Masaeed also emphasized that the increasing number of local championships and equestrian clubs has contributed to the development of the sport in Kuwait. He expressed optimism for a promising future for Kuwaiti equestrianism, driven by the sport’s steady growth and rising standards.
