KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: Ghazi Al-Jariwi, a Kuwaiti Olympic Committee Board Member, commended the impressive evolution of Kuwaiti equestrian sports, attributing this progress to the unwavering support extended by the Public Authority for Sports. He also acknowledged the commendable efforts of the Kuwaiti Equestrian Federation, led by Masoud Johar Hayat. Their combined dedication has led to the organization of a local league championship featuring Kuwaiti clubs over the past two seasons, marking a historic first for Kuwaiti equestrianism.
Moreover, this fruitful collaboration has resulted in the successful hosting of several international tournaments, including two- and three-star categories, with the presence of representatives from the International Equestrian Federation.
Al-Jariwi further disclosed that discussions took place with the Director General of the General Sports Authority, Yousef Al-Baidan, alongside the Chairman of the Equestrian Committee and fellow Board Member of the Equestrian Federation, Ali Al-Kharafi, and Equestrian Sheikh Yousef Al-Sabah. Their deliberations underscored the pivotal role of the General Authority for Sports in bolstering Kuwaiti equestrianism and propelling this sport forward. Al-Jariwi noted that equestrianism, with its recent technical advancements, has been attracting a growing number of new riders.
He emphasized that the substantial development in equestrianism would not have been possible without the state’s support, embodied by the General Sports Authority. The meeting concluded with preliminary solutions to ensure ongoing support for equestrian sports in the upcoming period, enabling the Federation to swiftly organize the current season’s schedule.
Al-Jariwi also expressed his appreciation for the dedication of Mr. Yousef Al-Baidan, the Chairman of the General Sports Authority, in endorsing accomplished sports that enhance Kuwait’s standing on the global stage.
Likewise, Masoud Johar Hayat, the President of the Kuwait Equestrian Federation, emphasized the urgency of seeking solutions from the General Sports Authority to back the local league, a vital contributor to the growth of riders and horses.
This support is essential to sustaining the rapid development of equestrianism, particularly among the youth, promising a bright future for this sport.
