Moroccan striker Hamza Khaba.

KUWAIT CITY, July 13: The Arab Club received a formal request from Bahrain's Al-Khalidiya to acquire the services of Moroccan striker Hamza Khaba, known as “Green.”

According to Bahraini media reports, Al-Khalidiya is keen on signing Khaba during the current summer transfer window, impressed by his offensive skills and potential contributions to local and Asian competitions in the upcoming season.

Khaba, formerly with Raja Sports Team, moved to Al-Arabi last July following the conclusion of his loan spell at Raja Athletic Club, where he played under Tunisian coach Monther Lakbir. Sources indicate that Al-Khalidiya views Khaba as a valuable addition to its offensive lineup and is preparing an official offer to present to Al-Arabi Club management. Khaba’s contract with Al-Arabi extends until the summer of 2025.

Al-Khalidiya’s roster already includes Zuhair Al-Mutaraji, formerly of Wydad Sports Club, who joined the team during the winter transfer window.

In separate news, Algerian defender Sofiane Bouchard, who recently arrived at Al Arabi, reportedly returned to his country just two days after arrival without participating in group training. Conflicting reports suggest reasons for Bouchard's departure, including claims of issues regarding his contract advance payment. Other sources indicate that the player returned briefly to Algeria for personal reasons but is expected to rejoin the Al-Arabi delegation at its training camp in Turkey.
