KUWAIT CITY, July 9: Nayef Al-Khamili, Assistant Secretary of the Kuwait Volleyball Association and head of the delegation for the national junior team participating in the Arab Championship confirmed that the participation of the junior team has been fruitful and beneficial so far.

He stated, “We are competing in the Arab Championship for junior volleyball in Jordan with a team playing in its first international tournament. These young and talented players need experience and development to ensure a strong future performance.”

Al-Khamili emphasized that the aim of participating in this championship was to acclimate the players to the atmosphere of intense matches, eliminate their fear, and help them gain valuable experience. This preparation is intended to ensure these talents eventually secure a place in the senior national team.

He also mentioned that the Kuwait Volleyball Association is dedicated to developing the junior and youth national teams, as they are the foundation of the senior national team. He praised the players' discipline and adherence to the instructions from the technical and administrative staff during the tournament. The team began the Arab Championship with a 0-3 loss to Saudi Arabia, then defeated Iraq 3-0, followed by losses to Jordan 2-3 and Bahrain 0-3.

"Al-Azraq" will face the Libyan national team today and will conclude the tournament with a match against Qatar tomorrow. Additionally, Bahrain will play against Iraq, and Jordan will compete against Saudi Arabia. Bahrain currently leads the team standings with 13 points, followed by Saudi Arabia with 11, Libya with 9, Jordan with 5, Kuwait with 4, Iraq with 3, and Qatar with no points.
