KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: Kuwait Club rider Ali Al-Kharafi was crowned champion of the second round of the Kuwait Equestrian Federation League Championship, held at Mesilla Club track.
Al-Kharafi secured the victory by completing the differentiation round at a height of 140 cm in the fastest time of 36.30 seconds, outperforming competitors Nick Channing, Yara Al-Hunaidi, Fawaz Al-Rashed, and Abdullah Al-Awadhi. The Federation's technical director, Walid Al-Jassem, presented the awards to the winners.
The referees' committee led by international referee Nadar Al-Mustafa, included riders Raghad Al-Dubos and Ibtisam Al-Arouri. Michel Esmalon designed the course, with assistance from Muhammad Al-Saeed, while Dr. Yahya Al-Hadban and Badr Al-Haifi served as field referees.
It is worth noting that Al-Kharafi did not compete in the first round of the league, as he was in Saudi Arabia for an international competition.
Bashar Abdullah, Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, praised the growing popularity of equestrian sports, noting the increasing attendance at competitions across all age groups. He remarked, "The Equestrian Federation's work is always distinguished, smooth, and effective. The team, led by passionate individuals like Yousef Al-Sabah, Ghazi Al-Jariwi, Raghad Al-Dubos, Ali Al-Kharafi, and Abdulrahman Al-Fuzai, is committed to serving sports."
Abdullah also extended his congratulations to the Board of Directors of the Equestrian Federation for their unanimous election and the trust placed in them to lead Kuwaiti equestrian sports for the next four years.
