KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21: The Kuwait Club secured a hard-fought triumph over Kazma with a 3-2 victory in the volleyball league. The intense match unfolded the day before yesterday at Al-Ittihad Hall in the inaugural round of the tournament. Concurrently, Al-Qadsia easily outplayed Al-Sahel in three straight games, while Al-Arabi clinched a 3-1 victory against Yarmouk. Kuwait earned the initial two points in the tournament, Kazma secured one, and Al-Arabi and Al-Qadsia garnered the full three points each, leaving Yarmouk and Al-Sahel with no points.
The "White" victory proved to be a challenging feat for Kuwait, despite their earlier successes in the Federation Championships and the Super Cup this season. They faced significant resistance from the "Orange," who delivered an outstanding performance.
The first half saw a closely contested battle, with the score fluctuating until Kazma claimed victory at 29-27. Kuwait leveled the score by winning the second half 25-21. The third half showcased an even performance, with Kuwait taking the lead by securing a 27-25 victory. Kazma, resilient, returned to dominance in the fourth half, prevailing at 25-21. The teams then engaged in a tiebreaker, where Kuwait ultimately asserted its advantage, securing a hard-fought 15-11 victory.
In the second match, Al-Qadsia effortlessly defeated Al-Sahel in three consecutive games: 25-21, 25-18, 25-18. The third match witnessed Al-Arabi facing resistance from Yarmouk, which initially led with a 27-25 score in the first half. However, Al-Akhdar staged a comeback, winning the subsequent three games at 25-15, 25-23, and 25-17.
Looking ahead, the Women’s Super Cup is set to kick off next Sunday, concluding on Wednesday with the participation of Al-Fatah Club, Al-Oyoun Girls Club, and Salwa Club. Additionally, the U-19 Youth League is scheduled to commence on the 28th of this month, followed by the Women’s General League on December 3rd.
