KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12: Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Chairman of the National Cooperative Projects Committee, announced on Sunday that the "Al-Makash 3" project has attracted almost 150,000 visitors since its opening. The visitors include citizens, residents, and visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Al-Ajmi stated that this number is unprecedented, surpassing the visitor counts of the previous two editions of the project, underscoring the success of its third iteration.
In an interview with KUNA, Al-Ajmi revealed that special events and surprises are planned for January and February to coincide with Kuwait’s national holiday celebrations. These events are aimed at enhancing the overall experience for visitors, further solidifying "Al-Makash 3" as a leading destination for citizens, residents, and visitors from both inside and outside Kuwait.
Given the exceptional turnout, Al-Ajmi noted that operating hours have been extended. The project will now be open from 12:00 noon until 12:00 midnight, ensuring visitors can fully enjoy all activities without inconvenience.
Al-Ajmi emphasized that the project has evolved into a major attraction, showcasing significant improvements in its structure and capabilities. It was specifically designed to cater to all segments of society, which has contributed to the record turnout. Additionally, the project aligns with the goals of Kuwait’s "New Kuwait 2035" vision, playing a pivotal role in revitalizing the local economy and boosting the tourism sector. This, he explained, represents a significant step toward diversifying the country’s income sources.
He expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Interior for its crucial role in facilitating visitor entry and resolving any challenges, as well as to the Ministry of Information, including digital platforms and Kuwait Radio and Television, for their efforts in promoting the project’s exceptional events and activities.
Al-Ajmi also acknowledged the collaboration of the Ministry of Health and the General Fire Department, whose contributions were key to the success of the initiative. He noted that the achievement highlights the importance of joint efforts in advancing tourism and economic development in Kuwait.
The "Al-Makash 3" project, which was inaugurated on November 16 by the Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, is located on the northern island of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge and will continue until the end of March.
