Public Prosecution refers Al-Mangaf fire case to Ministry of Interior

Public Prosecution classifies the Al-Mangaf fire case as a misdemeanor; eight defendants were released on bail.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: An informed source has confirmed that the Public Prosecution has referred the Mangaf fire case to the General Department of Investigations at the Ministry of Interior. The case is classified as a “misdemeanor” rather than a “felony,” following technical reports that indicated the fire was not intentional.

The source noted that the Public Prosecution, after interrogating all accused parties and initially detaining them pending trial, did not find any evidence of criminal intent or premeditation.

The detention renewal judge has decided to release the eight defendants in the case—comprising one Kuwaiti citizen, three Indians, and four Egyptians—on bail of 300 dinars each.
