Ronaldo missed his first penalty kick with Al-Nassr.

RIYADH, Oct 30: Al-Nassr exited the King's Cup in the round of 16 following a 1-0 loss to Al-Taawoun at Al-Awal Park. This marked Al-Nassr’s first defeat under Italian coach Stefano Pioli, ending his seven-game winning streak across all competitions, which included four league victories, two wins in the Asian Elite League, and one in the King's Cup.

The streak was interrupted by a 3-3 league draw with Al-Khulud, and Al-Taawoun capitalized on this to hand Al-Nassr its first defeat with Pioli at the helm. This is the second tournament Al-Nassr has exited this season, having previously lost the Saudi Super Cup title to rival Al-Hilal.

The match’s decisive goal was scored by Al-Taawoun’s Walid Al-Ahmad in the 70th minute, while Cristiano Ronaldo missed a late penalty. Al-Taawoun advanced to the quarterfinals, while Al-Nassr now faces a morale test as it prepares to meet the league leader at Al-Awal Park on Friday. In other matches, Al-Hilal defeated Al-Ta’ee 4-1, Al-Raed won 1-0 over Al-Najma, and Al-Fayhaa edged Al-Arabi 1-0.
