Al-Nassr edges Al-Hazm as Al-Jandal stuns Al-Ahli in King’s Cup round of 32

RIYADH, Sept 24: Al-Nassr secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Al-Hazm in the round of 32 of the King’s Cup at King Abdullah Stadium in Buraidah. Senegalese star Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Al-Nassr in the sixth minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half. Al-Hazm equalized in the 62nd minute through Basil Al-Siyali. However, in the second minute of stoppage time, Nawaf Bushel capitalized on a goalkeeping error to score the decisive goal into an empty net, securing Al-Nassr's win.


In a stunning upset, Al-Jandal knocked out Al-Ahli with a 2-1 win at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. Abdullah Mutawaq gave Al-Jandal the lead in the 24th minute, and Yassin Amri added a second with a penalty in the 30th minute. Al-Ahli managed to pull one back through English player Ivan Toney in the 82nd minute, but it wasn’t enough to turn the match around.

Meanwhile, Al-Ettifaq advanced to the round of 16 with a 2-0 victory over Al-Adalah at Al-Ettifaq Club Stadium in Dammam, securing their place in the next round of the competition.
