Al-Qadisiya captain controls the ball during the Zain Premier League match.

KUWAIT CITY, March 6: Al-Qadisiya is in pursuit of a crucial victory that could bring them closer to Zain Premier League leaders, Kuwait Club and Al-Arabi. The team is set to face Al-Shabab today at 7:40 pm in the eighteenth round, following a pivotal match between Al-Fahaheel and Al-Salmiya at 5 pm at Al-Shabab Stadium.

Currently holding the third position in the standings with 36 points, the "Yellow" team is eager for a second consecutive win. They hope that leaders Kuwait (40 points) and second-placed Al-Arabi (36 points) will face setbacks in the upcoming round to narrow the gap.

Despite a recent string of declining results, Al-Qadisiya managed to secure a challenging victory over Al-Salmiya in the previous round with a lone goal, reigniting their competitive spirit. However, their performance fell short of expectations, prompting criticism. Coach Dr. Mohamed Al-Mashaan and the team aspire to deliver a convincing performance, addressing recent critiques and entering the "Six" League competitions on a positive note, aiming to contend for the title absent from their grasp for several years.

On the other side, Al-Shabab, with 14 points, seeks a victory to distance itself from the "danger zone." The team is motivated to secure a win before entering the four-league competitions, aiming to avoid relegation. Additionally, they are keen on rectifying their situation, particularly as the winter deals have yet to yield the desired results.

In the concurrent match, Al-Fahaheel (20 points) faces Al-Salmiya (24 points). "The people of the tenth region" are determined to secure a victory to maintain their position among the Premier League teams (League of Six). However, a win alone may not suffice, as they also require Kazma to either draw or lose against Al-Arabi tomorrow to achieve their goal. Meanwhile, Al-Salmiya plays without pressure, as a victory would bring them closer to the leading teams and secure fourth place, as Al-Nasr (24 points) faces a difficult match against Kuwait tomorrow.
