KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25: Al-Qadsia Club's volleyball team claimed the top spot in the overall standings of the league, securing a decisive victory against Al-Tadamon in three straight sets 25-23, 25-19, 25-19 during the second round of the tournament. In other second-round results, Kuwait triumphed over Al-Arabi 3-1 25-21, 23-25, 26-24, 25-16, Kazma secured a similar result against Al-Shabab 20-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-16, Burgan dominated Al-Sahel 25-18, 25-17, 25-19, and Yarmouk emerged victorious against Sulaibikhat  25-19, 25-19, 25-21.

Currently, Al-Qadsia leads the league standings with 6 points, closely followed by Burgan and Al-Kuwait with 5 points each. Yarmouk and Kazma hold 4 points each, while Al-Shabab and Al-Arabi have 3 points. Al-Tadamon, Al-Sahel, and Sulaibikhat are yet to score.

The league employs a home-and-away system, with the top four teams at the conclusion advancing to the semi-finals, also following the same format. The championship title will be awarded to the team with the highest point total. International scoring rules apply, where a 3-0 or 3-1 victory earns three points for the winner and no points for the loser. In case of a 3-2 outcome, the winner receives two points, and the loser gets one point.

This General Volleyball League Championship marks the third tournament of the current season, with Kuwait having previously secured victories in the Refresher and Super Championships.
