RIFFA, Bahrain, Feb 8: Al-Qadsiya is set to play its second match in the 3rd West Asian Men's Volleyball Clubs Championship, currently taking place at Isa bin Rashid Hall in Riffa, Bahrain, concluding on February 18.

Al-Qadsiya will face Qatar's Al-Arabi at 4:30 pm, followed by a match between Iraq's North Refineries and Oman's Al-Salam at 7:00 pm.

In the tournament opener, Al-Qadsiya suffered a 0-3 defeat to Qatar's Al-Rayyan, with set scores of 16-25, 16-25, and 21-25. On the same day, Al-Arabi secured a 3-1 victory over Al-Salam, and Bahrain's Al-Ahli triumphed 3-0 against North Refineries.

Another defeat would diminish Al-Qadsiya its title aspirations, especially with a crucial match against host team Al-Ahli scheduled for Tuesday, followed by a final game against North Refineries on Saturday. The club also recently signed Bulgarian professional Branimir Grozdanov.

Al-Qadsiya’s Nasser Abdul Samad acknowledged the difficulty, noting that despite leading in certain sets, the team faced strong serves and blocking from its opponent. He emphasized the importance of minimizing errors in today's game.

The championship follows a single round-robin format, with teams competing once against each other.
