KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Al-Qadsiya handball team manager Osama Al-Musameh affirmed that the team is back on the right path, showing steady progress and strong ambition to reclaim a spot in the Premier League next season.

Al-Musameh acknowledged the team's recent performance dip, attributing it to the lengthy league suspension caused by the national team’s participation in the World Cup. He added, “Unfortunately, we weren’t able to secure Premier League promotion last season due to a wave of nine injuries that weakened our lineup and led to a drop in form, resulting in relegation to the First Division.”

However, he emphasized that the team’s situation is improving: “Thanks to the combined efforts of the technical staff, players, and continuous support from the club’s board, we are now correcting our course. The team’s performance has been consistently improving from one match to the next, and most importantly, we are now leading the First Division standings. Our goal is clear: to return to the Premier League next season.”

Al-Qadsiya climbed to the top of the First Division table following its 30-24 win over Al-Fahaheel, coupled with Khaitan’s 36-32 victory over previous leader Al-Nasr in the penultimate seventh round. This shift gave Al-Qadsiya  22 points, pushing Al-Nasr to second place with 20 points. Al-Qurain follows in third with 18 points, while the rest of the standings are: Al-Fahaheel (12), Khaitan (10), Al-Yarmouk (4), Al-Tadamon (3), and Al-Sahel at the bottom with no points.
